Angela AtkinsonFounder and Manager
Angela founded TFRA in August of 2011 after realizing the animal rescue network in Northern Queensland was still struggling under the weight of homeless and unwanted animals. She now spends every day working tirelessly to keep TFRA running smoothly and ensuring every animal that comes through her front door gets the best chance at life possible.
What our clients say
Have just adopted the beautiful Koda today and she has settled in beautifully and certainly made herself at home! She has been playing non stop with our other puppy fletcher and they just love each other! So grateful for all the hard work you all do! Koda was given a second chance and without your organization she wouldn’t have gotten that and we wouldn’t have her! Thank you so much
Loving our little kitten (formerly Pixie, now Billie after Billie Holiday) and appreciating the wonderful home she had whilst in your care. With big thanks, Sarah Funkhouser
This week we adopted Abby, little Foxy x..pocket rocket..she is just beautiful and has melted the hearts of everyone in our household..very grateful to your organisation for without you guys we wouldn’t have found this beautiful little girl.
It’s been 8 months since we adopted a little kitten called Rachel…well Rachel is a now a big cat who rules the house plus two adopted brothers, we’d like to thank her foster carers and Angela who did such a wonderful job of socialising her, she loves adults, kids, cats, dogs and vacuum cleaners and has no fear of anything.
It’s been almost 2 years since I got my dog Finn (formerly Angus) from you guys. He has really brightened these years, and is my constant companion. Thank you guys so much for the fantastic work you do, rescued dogs are just the best

Just wanted to say thanks to Townsville Foster and Rehoming, with special thanks to carer Mel, for our gorgeous kitten Minnie. She came to us a week ago and she has quickly become part of the family. Our lovely boy Higgy, also a rehomed cat, has adapted really well to Minnie and the two are on the way to becoming good friends. Minnie has a great nature and is a sheer delight. Thanks to all concerned. Liz Tynan
